I have practiced yoga on and off for several decades and Amanda is by far my favorite instructor. Her classes and flows are always creative and thoughtful. And somehow even virtually they seem to be exactly what I need. -A.N.
After moving away from Ann Arbor, I really missed Amanda’s classes, even pre-pandemic. The Amanda Topping Yoga Patreon account was a game changer for me and my practice. I get so excited when I see a new yoga video or meditation on the platform. Amanda’s classes/videos are accessible and challenging. She offers many variations and modifications throughout the practice to allow you to find where your edge is and explore new aspects of postures. She always reminds you to only go where your body is willing to take you in a given day and gives you tools to challenge yourself every practice. The classes/videos are also both playful and mindful. Amanda is a fun and humble teacher and I will often find myself chuckling along with her when I fall out of a balancing pose or explore a somewhat goofy new shape. This makes her practices so approachable and enjoyable. At the same time, it is evident that Amanda deeply honors the traditions and significance of yoga. She is so intentional about honoring the roots and belief systems connected to yoga. Within each practice, and especially within guided meditations, Amanda dives deeper into the rich cultural background of yoga. - B.M.
Amanda is an incredible human and an awesome yoga teacher. She started doing private sessions at our office and I had never done yoga before. I really wanted to join, but was nervous that I wasn't in good enough shape, wasn't limber enough, didn't know enough. From the very first breathe in her class, I was at ease and she made me feel like "I can do this!". Amanda has been leading our group twice a week for a few years now and has taught us so much. For me personally, she has taught me about yoga and how to do it, but she has also taught me so many things about being a kind and compassionate human. I would recommend Amanda Topping as a yoga teacher, wherever and as often as you can take her class. -K. D.
Amanda is a very kind teacher who somehow carries a 'no bullshit' attitude while giving supportive verbal cues and making yoga a fun, communal experience. She encourages students to accept where they're at in the moment, and to not compare one's practice to another's. In summary, she rocks! - L.G.
I have been taking yoga with Amanda for almost two years. I started coming seeking relief for my lower back pain, but since have discovered so much more than that! My practice helps me manage stress, stay physically active without over-stressing my body, and maintain self-care and sobriety through the spiritual aspect of yoga and meditation. Amanda is an exceptionally intuitive mentor and guide. She always listens to her students with the understanding that not all size fits all and tailors her practice to what is needed at the particular moment. She is patient and kind, and practicing yoga with her is a rare gift: there is no stress or expectations placed on you. Because of Amanda I have incorporated yoga practice solidly in my weekly routine and staying true to it. - A.K.
